Google Business Profile

One business location per connection, posted as a What's new post on the listing.

Coming soon. The posting code below is built and works against a connected account. Google Business Profile is not offered to customers yet because it needs Google's approval of API access. LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Discord, Telegram and Mastodon are live today.

#Overview

A Google Business Profile connection is one account plus one business location. A post goes to that location's listing, so the connection needs to know which one. Connect the Google account through the consent screen in the dashboard, then pick the location.

Posts land as "What's new" posts on the listing, in Google Search and Maps.

Posting to Google Business Profile is free. The account counts toward your connection ladder like any other.

#What goes in a post

  • Text up to 1500 characters.
  • One photo.
  • The first URL in the text becomes the "Learn more" button on the post.
curl -X POST https://api.yeetpost.com/api/v2/post/google_business \
  -H "x-api-key: $YEETPOST_API_KEY" \
-d 'new winter hours: open until 8 on fridays. https://example.com/hours'

That posts the text as a "What's new" post with a "Learn more" button pointing at https://example.com/hours.

#Why it says "coming soon"

The posting code above is built and works today against a connected account. Google keeps the Business Profile APIs at a quota of zero until it approves access for the developer app, so it is not offered to customers yet. Once Google approves, Google Business Profile shows up in the dashboard's connection picker with no other change to this page.
