#Head to head

Their column is what their own public pages said on 17 September 2026: buffer.com/pricing, developers.buffer.com, buffer.com/developer-api and their MCP docs. Where we could not find an answer, the row says “Not published” rather than guessing.

Platforms6: LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Discord, Telegram, Mastodon.11: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon.
Sandbox and test keysYes. A sandbox connection that validates and never publishes, and yp_test_ keys that cannot reach a live account. Not published.
Per-item resultsOne response carries a result per connection, so a partial failure is visible in the call that caused it.Not published. The API is GraphQL; posts are created one at a time per channel.
Delivery logA public webhook delivery log endpoint: every attempt, its status code and its response. Not published. No webhook system documented.
IdempotencyIdempotency-Key. The same key replays the stored response verbatim, a different body on the same key is a 409, and errors are stored too.Not published.
MCP tools5, all always visible.18, covering posts, channels, ideas, templates and metrics.
MCP authAn API key, or a login. Add the endpoint as a custom connector in claude.ai with no key and it runs OAuth 2.1 against us: you sign in, pick your whole account or one profile, pick live or test. A grant is scoped and paced like a key, and is revoked from the console.A Bearer API key. No OAuth flow for MCP. A key reaches every organization and channel in the account with no per-organization scoping.
AnalyticsPer-post metrics read back on a schedule and kept: GET /posts/{postId}/metrics, GET /analytics for a window, and a post.metrics webhook. Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn are free; X reads are metered and off by default. A number a platform does not report is null, never 0.Experimental, personal-use-only post metrics via GraphQL. Aggregated counts refreshed daily. Not available to OAuth apps. Buffer says not to rely on it for reporting.
Team membersSeveral people on one account, invited by email, as owner, admin or member. One bill, on the owner.Free and Essentials: 1 user. Team plan: unlimited users. Only organization owners can create API keys.
CLITen commands in the Node package, JSON on stdout by default, but that CLI ships in [email protected] and is not on npm yet. The published 1.x package posts with a single yeetpost <connection> <text> call. Use the MCP server or the REST API today.Yes. A CLI described as scriptable, no published command count.
SDKs3: Node, Python and Go, hand written, zero dependencies, all at parity with the v2 API. None of them is on npm, PyPI or a module proxy yet, so today you call the API directly.None published by Buffer. The current GraphQL API has no official SDK. Legacy community Python wrappers target the old REST API being retired February 2027.
Multi-tenancyProfiles, hosted connect URLs and scoped keys: shipped. One profile per end customer, with profileId on connections, posts and webhooks; a hosted connect page, headless mode included, that your customer connects through without seeing our dashboard; and API keys scoped to one profile, with a redirect allowlist. Build a platform is the guide.OAuth-based multi-user apps supported (users connect their own Buffer accounts). No profiles, hosted connect URLs, scoped keys or headless mode.
PricingPer connected account per month. 2 free, then $5 (3-10), $2.50 (11-100), $1 (101+).Per channel per month. Free (3 channels, 10 posts each), Essentials $5/channel, Team $10/channel. API included on every plan.

SupportIn-app support threads, answered in the product, with email on reply.In-app chat on the developer portal and email at [email protected].

The short version: Buffer is a scheduling product with more platforms, no X surcharge, and an API included for free. yeetpost is an API with a sandbox, per-connection results, idempotency, a delivery log, multi-tenancy and per-account pricing. Buffer's analytics API is experimental and personal-use only; yeetpost's is production-grade.

#Who should pick which

Pick Buffer if you need a scheduling UI with a content calendar, if you need platforms yeetpost does not have (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest), if you want no per-post X fees, or if the GraphQL API on a Free plan is enough for your use case.

Pick yeetpost if you are building an integration or wiring an agent and want a sandbox, per-connection results, idempotency, webhook delivery logs, multi-tenancy with hosted connect URLs, or production-grade analytics via REST. Start on the agents page or read the docs.
