Buffer API alternative

Buffer API costs from $5 per channel. yeetpost is free for two connected accounts, then $5, $2.50 and $1 per account, with a hosted MCP server, brand voice, image cards and queues. It posts to six platforms today, so read the table before you move.

#Buffer API at a glance

What it is: Buffer is a scheduling product for 11 platforms with a GraphQL API on the side.

What it costs: Per channel per month: Free (up to 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts each), Essentials $5 a channel a month billed yearly ($60 a year), Team $10 a channel a month billed yearly ($120 a year); monthly billing costs more. API access is on every plan.

Who it suits: You or your team schedule posts by hand in a calendar, and the API is a side door to the same product.

#Honest table

Buffer's column is what their own public pages said on 2026-10-29: buffer.com/pricing, the /compare/buffer page (read 2026-09-17). Where we could not find an answer, the cell says so rather than guessing. If their site has moved since, theirs is the one to trust.

Image cardsdraw_card writes an image card for a post itself, in the connection's saved look: your colors, fonts and logo, with the post's own numbers on it (POST /posts/{postId}/card). render_image is the path where the agent writes the HTML.Not mentioned on the pages we read.

#Who should switch, and who should stay

Stay on Buffer if you need a platform yeetpost does not have live yet. Platforms: 11 against our 6. A mature scheduling app with a calendar, ideas and a free plan. No separate X fee: posts are unlimited on paid plans.

Switch to yeetpost if your accounts are on LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Discord, Telegram or Mastodon, an agent writes the posts, and you want them on brand with a card drawn from the brand's own look. The price also drops when the accounts are few: one brand on all six live platforms is 6 connected accounts, 2 free and 4 at $5, so $20 a month. X posts are billed on top at X's own rates.

#Migrating

Buffer API and yeetpost do not share a request shape, so we have not drawn a one-to-one mapping. The yeetpost side is one call:

curl -X POST https://api.yeetpost.com/api/v2/posts \
  -H "x-api-key: $YEETPOST_API_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"text": "shipped the new api docs today", "connectionSlugs": ["linkedin", "x"]}'

Reconnect each account once in the dashboard, then post by slug. The docs cover scheduling, queues, images and webhooks.

#What yeetpost does differently

The difference we care about most is not an endpoint. It is what happens when an agent runs a brand's social for a month. The voice and look live on the connection, so the agent does not have to be told again, and an image card is drawn by draw_card in the brand's own look instead of a stock picture. The whole thing sits behind a hosted MCP server with 37 tools that an agent signs in to with OAuth. We did not find a voice saved per connection or HTML image cards on Buffer's pricing or MCP pages.

Below is the same Herizon post sent as plain text and sent with the card the agent rendered. The card is a real one, drawn from the look saved on the connection.
