Post to social media from Claude
Add yeetpost to Claude as a custom connector (Claude.ai and Claude Desktop) or with one claude mcp add command (Claude Code), and Claude can post, schedule and queue to your connected accounts. Claude.ai takes a yeetpost login with no key to paste; Claude Code uses an API key.
Set it up
The server is a Streamable HTTP MCP endpoint at https://api.yeetpost.com/api/v2/mcp.
Claude.ai and Claude Desktop
Connect at least one account in the yeetpost console (https://app.yeetpost.com). Each connection gets a slug, such as linkedin or bluesky, which is how the agent addresses it.
In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector. Give it the name yeetpost and this URL. Leave any key or client fields empty.
https://api.yeetpost.com/api/v2/mcpClaude opens yeetpost in your browser. Sign in, pick whether Claude reaches your whole account or one profile, pick live or test, and approve. The approval is listed, and can be revoked, on the MCP page of the console (https://app.yeetpost.com/app/mcp).
Claude Code
Connect at least one account in the yeetpost console (https://app.yeetpost.com). Each connection gets a slug, such as linkedin or bluesky, which is how the agent addresses it.
Create an API key on the API page of the yeetpost console (https://app.yeetpost.com/app/api). A key starting yp_test_ reaches sandbox connections only and publishes nothing, which is the one to use while you wire this up.
Export the key, then add the server. Use --scope project to write it into the project's .mcp.json instead, or --scope local for this project only. Restart Claude Code if it was already running.
export YEETPOST_API_KEY=yp_secret_your_key_here claude mcp add --transport http --header 'Authorization: Bearer ${YEETPOST_API_KEY}' --scope user yeetpost https://api.yeetpost.com/api/v2/mcpRun /mcp inside Claude Code to check that yeetpost is connected, then ask it to post.
Three things to ask
- Post this to my LinkedIn page: we shipped the new api docs today.
- Schedule this thread on X and Bluesky for tomorrow at 9am, then show me what is queued.
- What did I post this week, and did anything fail?
What Claude gets
All 37 tools of the yeetpost MCP server, including:
get_context: Start here. Who you act as, live or test mode, the plan, what is left of today's allowance, and what needs attention (failed posts, expired logins, connections with no slots), each with its fix.create_post: Post to one or more connections now, at scheduledFor, into the queue, or as a draft, with images, a timezone and an idempotencyKey so a retry never posts twice.list_posts: List posts, newest first, filtered by status, tag, connection, platform, profile, send group or time, with paging.draw_card: Draw an image card for an existing post in its connection's look, to show the user and attach when they say yes.get_post_metrics: A post's numbers over time, and whether yeetpost is collecting them for its connection.
The full list is on the MCP docs page.
FAQ
- Do I need an API key for Claude.ai?
- No. Claude.ai and Claude Desktop add the server URL as a custom connector and sign in with a yeetpost login (OAuth). Claude Code uses an API key in the Authorization header.
- Which platforms can Claude post to through yeetpost?
- LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Discord, Telegram and Mastodon. Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Google Business Profile, Slack, SMS and email are not live yet.
- Can I try it without posting for real?
- Yes. A test key (starts yp_test_) sees sandbox connections only: posts are validated and answered like a real platform's, and nothing is published.
- Does it cost anything?
- Posts are unlimited on every plan. Billing is per connected account, with the first 2 free. X is the one platform with a per-post fee, passed through at X's own cost: 1.5 cents a post, 20 cents when the post has a link.
- Which tools does the agent get?
- All 37 tools of the hosted MCP server: posting, scheduling and queues, drafts, brand voice and image cards, media, connections and sources. The full list is on the MCP docs page.
